By accessing and using FileTree (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Platform. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, with changes taking effect upon posting to the Platform. Your continued use following such modification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Description of Service
FileTree is a cloud file storage and digital marketplace platform that enables users to upload, store, and distribute digital content. The Platform accepts cryptocurrency payments exclusively (with a focus on Monero) and operates on a no-KYC basis. Users may monetize their uploaded content by setting payment requirements on files.
3. User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for all content you upload to the Platform. By uploading content, you warrant that:
- You own or have legitimate rights to all uploaded content
- The content does not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights
- The content does not infringe on copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights
- The content does not contain defamatory, abusive, hateful, or otherwise harmful material
- The content does not violate export control regulations or contain restricted materials
- You comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction
4. Content Ownership & Rights
All content uploaded to FileTree is user-generated and remains the exclusive property of the uploader. By uploading content to the Platform, you grant FileTree a limited license solely to host, display, and distribute your content as necessary to operate the Platform. This license does not transfer ownership to FileTree.
FileTree claims no ownership rights over user-uploaded content and makes no representations regarding the ownership status of any uploaded files. Content creators retain all intellectual property rights to their work.
5. Prohibited Content
Users may not upload content that:
- Violates any federal, state, local, or international law
- Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Contains child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or exploitative content
- Involves illegal substances, weapons, or services
- Facilitates fraud, scams, or illegal activities
- Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Harasses, threatens, or defames individuals
- Violates privacy rights of others
Users who upload prohibited content will face immediate account suspension and content removal.
6. Account Creation & Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities under your account, whether authorized by you or not. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
7. Cryptocurrency Payments
All payments on the Platform are conducted exclusively in cryptocurrency. You are responsible for understanding cryptocurrency transactions, including transaction irreversibility. FileTree is not responsible for lost, misdirected, or unconfirmed transactions. By using the Platform, you acknowledge the inherent risks of cryptocurrency transactions.
8. Storage Limits & Billing
Free tier users receive 10GB of storage.
9. File Retention & Deletion
FileTree reserves the right to delete free inactive accounts and associated content. Accounts (with free storage only) inactive for 12 months may have their content permanently removed. Users are solely responsible for maintaining backups of their content. Deletion of content is permanent and irreversible.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. FileTree disclaims all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In no event shall FileTree be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, arising from your use or inability to use the Platform.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FileTree, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or costs (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your violation of these terms, (b) your use of the Platform, (c) your uploaded content, or (d) your violation of applicable laws.
12. Termination
FileTree reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these terms, engage in illegal activity, or pose a risk to the Platform or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Content may be deleted without notice.
13. No Endorsement
FileTree does not endorse or assume responsibility for any user-generated content. The presence of content on the Platform does not imply approval or verification by FileTree.
14. Third-Party Services
The Platform may integrate with third-party services (such as Trocador.app for payment processing). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies. FileTree is not responsible for third-party service availability or performance.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in courts of competent jurisdiction, as permitted by law.
16. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
FileTree is built on a foundation of privacy and minimal data collection. We believe users should retain control of their data. This Privacy Policy explains what limited information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum necessary information to operate the Platform:
- Account Information: Username and argon2 hashed password
- File Metadata: File names, sizes and upload timestamps
- Transaction Data: Cryptocurrency transaction records (wallet addresses, amounts, timestamps) necessary for billing
- Technical Logs: IP addresses + browser `User-Agent` (automatically collected by nginx), access timestamps, and error logs for security and performance
3. Information We Do Not Collect
FileTree does NOT collect:
- Personal identification documents or KYC information
- Real names, phone numbers, or physical addresses
- Browser cookies for tracking or advertising
- Location data (beyond IP-based geographic inference)
- Behavioral analytics or user profiling
4. Use of Information
We use collected information solely for:
- Operating and maintaining the Platform
- Processing cryptocurrency payments and billing
- Preventing abuse, fraud, and illegal activity
- Complying with legal obligations and law enforcement requests
- Improving Platform performance and security
5. Data Retention
We retain user data only as long as necessary to provide services or comply with legal obligations. Specifically:
- Account data is retained as long as the account is active
- Technical logs are retained for 90 days for security purposes
- Inactive accounts (12+ months) may be deleted along with associated content (free storage accounts / accounts with expired payments)
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and cannot be held liable for unauthorized access resulting from factors beyond our reasonable control.
7. No Third-Party Sharing
FileTree does not sell, rent, or share user personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
8. User Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: You may request access to your personal data
- Correction: You may request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data

9. Uploaded Content Privacy
FileTree does not access or scan the contents of user-uploaded files.
10. Third-Party Services
